France is one of the playable Allied nations in Battleground Europe fighting together with Great Britain against the Germans.
Armed Forces
The Armée de Terre, Marine Nationale and the Armée de l'Air are the three branches of the Armée Francaise. The Armée de Terre has the most Allied ground brigades with seven divisions as compared to the British Expeditionary Forces' measly three divisions.
Equipment
At the start of the campaign the French Army uses the prewar French tanks such as the R35, H39, the Char B1 Bis and the Panhard Scout Car and the ATGs lack HE but are very effective against tanks. The Air Force starts off with the Hawk 75 and the D.520 fighters with the Blenheim and DB-7 bombers - the latter two remain prominent all throughout the campaign.
Throughout the tiers a lot of American equipment is received simulating the lend-lease scheme with such tanks as the illustrious Sherman M4A2 and planes as Bell 14A fighter-bomber.
This is often lampooned ingame with the term 'Framerican' describing the French after Tier 2 and beyond.
