The first Founder of this Squad chose the name "1st Lithuanian Brigade" in honor of his mentor Lugan, whose grandfather was Lithuanian. Our nickname, "Iron Wolves" comes from the actual name of the Lithuanian Motorized Infantry Brigade IRON WOLF. The Founders of this Squad were very careful and selective when choosing our name. The primary concern was inadvertently selecting the name of a historical unit which may have committed war-time atrocities. While it could be argued that no one involved in the Second World War, on either side, was always above board, through intensive research we feel we have a historical background which is untainted. In the final analysis, we wear our name with pride and honor.
